Before you try the beta.

This is a development-stage Android build for testing. This page describes the current implementation; it is not a claim that the app is ready for a public production launch.

Your account and profile

Google sign-in identifies your account. Capire stores account information, profile fields and photos you choose to save, interests, preferences and city selections in its Google Cloud backend. City search uses Google Maps services; it does not share your exact device location with other members.

Conversations

A private invitation shares your profile name with the person who accepts it and creates a conversation. Codes expire after 24 hours. Messages are stored on the backend and are not end-to-end encrypted. Do not send identity documents, financial information or other sensitive test data. Blocking prevents either participant from continuing the conversation.

Audio and video calls

Beta calls use Capire’s Google Cloud calling server in Mumbai. Your microphone and, for video calls, camera are used for calls only after you start, accept or explicitly join a call on that device. Calls use encrypted transport but are not end-to-end encrypted. Capire does not record calls. The backend stores call participants, type, status and timestamps; this beta does not yet automatically delete those call records. Keep Capire open: background ringing and background calls are not supported. Calls end after 15 minutes. Blocking or account restrictions revoke call access; server cleanup normally runs every 20 seconds, with a short outage grace.

Identity verification is on hold

DigiLocker is not enabled in this release. Google sign-in and invitation codes are not government identity verification. Onboarding explains profile visibility before setup is completed. A saved name, adult birthday, city and photo make the profile visible in beta Discovery; other profile details are optional. Full birthdays stay private; members see age only. Existing accounts are not enrolled by a background migration. Visibility can be switched off anytime in Settings. Existing hidden choices are respected. Other signed-in members can then see their photos and public profile details, with an “Unverified beta user” label. Email, phone numbers and private support details are not shown. Hiding a profile removes it and its Spotlights from discovery feeds; existing conversations remain. Spotlights expire after 24 hours. When both members send interest, a beta chat becomes available.

Spotlight stories

Active profiles can share photo and video stories with eligible members in beta Discovery. These uploads are separate from your profile photos. Taking a photo or recording a video opens the device camera; recording video can also use its microphone. Android prepares the selected video clip on your device before uploading. Audio you choose from your phone is uploaded for the selected excerpt, or you can use a Capire original.

Tapping Share saves your media, caption, stickers, drawing, filter and music choices to the cloud. Edits are visual overlays; they do not securely conceal the underlying media. Story files are kept in private Google Cloud storage and require an authorized account to play. Viewing progress is saved temporarily for the story rings. Stories stop being available after 24 hours. Deleting a story revokes its access and requests file removal. Uploaded files are also scheduled for automatic storage cleanup once they are three days old, including abandoned uploads.

Profile visits, photo activity and Boost

Opening another member’s profile or full-photo page while your profile is active records a profile visit. That member can see your public name, profile photo and latest visit time in “Interest Detected”. Repeated opens update one visitor card, not a view counter. Only visits from the last 30 days appear; hidden, blocked and unavailable members are excluded. Merely seeing a card in Discovery does not record a visit. Sent interests are separate and appear under “Interested in you”.

Opening a member’s full photo records a unique photo open; downloading a Discovery feed does not. Photo insights show totals from the last 30 days. Sending a preset compliment shares your profile name and photo with that member. You can undo it from the same photo. Activity from blocked, hidden or unavailable profiles is excluded. Old activity is swept when Home feeds are used; it is not a guaranteed timed deletion job. Home refreshes while open, approximately every 30 seconds. The beta offers one free 30-minute Discovery boost per 24 hours. It changes ordering only, never visibility or filters, and does not guarantee views or matches.

Help and account requests

In the app, open My profile → Settings → Safety & support to submit a concern or account request. These are saved for the Capire team; response times are not guaranteed during testing. Privacy & your data offers an account-data export and request options. Contact the person who invited you if you cannot access the app.
